What if I'm not
good at controlling
my mind?

No problem. Unlike other forms of meditation,  Transcendental Meditation practice involves no concentration, no control of the mind, no contemplation, no monitoring of thoughts.  Anyone can do it, even children with ADHD and soldiers with PTSD.

"Meditation is an incredible way of centring myself, calming myself and really getting perspective on where I am."

Liv Tyler

What if I do not have
time to meditate?

Once you begin practising TM, the benefits to your life will be so great that you make time to meditate regularly, as naturally as you brush your teeth.

What if I find sitting
cross legged
uncomfortable?

TM is the absence of effort, you sit in whatever position makes you comfortable. For most people, this is sitting on the sofa normally as you would chatting with friends or watching TV.

Take the first step

Come along to an info session

The first step is to attend a free introductory talk or "Info Session".
This will be presented by a certified teacher of Transcendental Meditation and generally takes about 1 hour. You will find out:

  • Why TM is so effective for stress and anxiety
  • Why anyone can practise TM
  • What benefits you can realistically expect
  • How it works – the process of transcending
  • How TM differs from other meditations
  • What happens during TM

Following the talk there will be an opportunity to meet privately with the Teacher to discuss personal considerations.

The talk is a prerequisite to joining a course of instruction in TM, but there is no commitment to learn. It is open to everyone even if you only have a mild curiosity! Feel free to bring a friend.
